Teenaged Nicole (Reese Witherspoon), newly installed in her father’s fancy remote Seattle home, introduces an unsavory element when she falls for David (Mark Wahlberg), a polite boy with an unknown background and sketchy friends. Dad (William Petersen) is immediately on guard, so when David’s aggressive, obsessive tendencies bring a threat to the family home, dad's high-tech security and surveillance - as well as his dad-bod - get put to the test.
