Introduced by Alexander Edward, co-host of the Minion Death Cult podcast, MISS ME YET takes a look at the phenomenon that is George W. Bush and all that surrounds him.

Filmmaker Chris Bell's expansive archival collage series was born out of the shared sweets with former first ladies, vacuous portraits of damaged war veterans, verbal tomfoolery on daytime talkshow sets, and the untold suffering of people who happen to have been born in the wrong place and the wrong time. There’s the way W. both uses power, and does not use his power. There’s the way he feeds culture, and the way culture feeds him. Importantly: what did that do to all of us?

There are many reasons to explain why we are where we are as a society and many ways to do it. MISS ME YET starts the clock at just before the turn of the century -- prior to the election of one George W. Bush -- and charts the growth of the surveillance state, specific terror groups, loss of rights, consolidation of power, the birth of social media, and much more. Great overarching systems, obliteration of communities, and mass murder did not begin with the goofy cowboy. However, the series recontextualizes, reframes, and outlines important distinctions while charting the years since 2000 to provide a greater understanding.

Also... aren’t those Christmas videos with his dog really weird?
