NUITS ROUGES was surrealist Georges Franju’s (EYES WITHOUT A FACE, JUDEX) final tribute to the silent serials of Louis Feuillade—aggressively and joyfully escalating the absurdity of the bygone fantastique-crime genre, propelling it into a raucous, garish, and atmospheric film that blends high camp, anti-fascism, moody dream reality, and winking postmodern détournement!
