Outspoken Christine (Rachael Kelly) has been directly questioning the motivations of her new stepfather Paul (David Allen Brooks) for some time, insisting he wants to kill her and her mother, but almost everyone dismisses her accusations. Paul, however, takes her very seriously, because she’s right! And as Christine steps up her investigation into his shady activity, and Paul ramps up his timetable to get them out of the picture, a lot of people are going to be dead and/or on fire before their fight is over!
Director Michael Winner, who previously helmed two DEATH WISH installments and the still-shocking THE SENTINEL, takes the action into extremely heightened territory, never eliding the grimy undercurrent of violence and titillation in this story about a young woman learning to navigate a world in which female desire is both a trophy and a prison. SCREAM FOR HELP is a bad taste masterpiece.
“The sleaziest Nancy Drew movie ever made. The way our teen detective stupid amateur sleuthing is awkwardly juxtaposed with the heroically tasteless depiction of a teenage girl's clumsy, unpleasant sexual awakening is nothing short of jawdropping. One of the greatest pieces of trash ever produced.” - Matt Lynch
“Michael Winner was a pervert, a sadist, and a sociopath. This is one of his purest visions.” - Will Sloan
