Catherine's life is one of luxury. But since the death of her beloved father, her stately family home, luxurious car, and refined sensibilities have not brought her happiness. Aloof and disinterested in her husband and daughter, Catherine prefers to spend her evenings engaged in sensual fantasies while sitting amongst the items from her childhood bedroom, now stored in a dark attic. But one stormy night, while seated in front of a large mirror, her father - or a demon in his shape - appears in the reflection, promising her untold pleasures and happiness if she simply comes through the glass.
Jonas Middleton's THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS will appeal in equal parts to fans of adult cinema and 70s arthouse horror films as it seamlessly blends its literary influences, occult and mirror obsessions into a harrowing, wildly ambitious, and phantasmagorical journey exploring one woman's journey through cyclical abuse and its soul-altering effects on the psyche. Anchored by an incredibly tender performance from Catharine Burgess and a terrifying turn from Jamie Gillis, along with an early score by legendary genre film composers Harry Manfredini and Arlon Ober, LOOKING GLASS remains one of the strongest, and most stunningly crafted, nightmare-inducing horror films of the 1970s -- adult or otherwise.
Founded by the Seattle Erotica Cinema Society in 2016, SECS Fest celebrates a diverse range of sexually explicit representations, finding beauty in erotic difference and inspiring adult conversations about sex.
Dedicated to bringing world-class erotic movies to Seattle screens all year, SECS Fest is also delighted to partner with The Beacon for a series of monthly screenings, leading up to the 2025 edition of SECS Fest in November! For more info, see: https://www.secsfest.org/
